Arm lift
When the skin of the upper arms has become slack due to reduced skin elasticity, reduced muscle volume or weight loss, the excess skin is removed. The scar is in the fold that you see when you hold your arm horizontally.
Because the upper arms are a pain-sensitive area, general anesthesia is chosen.
The procedure takes one and a half to two hours.
After the procedure
After surgery, you will be taken to your room after a short stay in the recovery room. You may go home later in the day, but you may not drive yourself.
You will receive a letter with advice to promote good healing and an appointment to have the stitches removed after a week.
For about 4 weeks you will have to wear special tights or sleeves that provide extra support to the skin and the scar.
We recommend that you apply silicone gel or silicone patches to the scars for about 3 months.
The result
It takes a few weeks before you can see the final result. The arm lift scars will become less visible over time, but this can take up to a year.
The small scars from a possible liposculpture heal very quickly.
